Covax Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Hi,I'm planing trip to Miami, FL 4/17-21, I'll be traveling with my parents, so I need 2 rooms for 4 people.Looking for better price and near beach, 2* or 3*Thanks for help! :)
thereuare Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding! You can't select "near the beach", have to be willing to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded region of the zone's boundary. I would suggest first looking at Priceline's zones for this area and see if you are comfortable being anywhere within the shaded regions of any of the give zones (ie- look at Miami Beach, South Beach, etc).Let us know which zones are acceptable to you and your maximum bid and we will suggest a strategy to follow. If you find the zones are too large, you may want to also take a look at Hotwire (although it will likely cost you a bit more than Priceline) as they will show you amenity icons that will tell you if the hotel they're offering is "Beachfront" or "Near the Beach".Let us know the above and how you want to proceed and we'll take it from there. thereuare Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 To make she you don't overbid, have you looked at Hotwire at all? They are offering a 3* hotel in South Beach for $68 and a 2.5* for $63. Both of these are "boutique" hotels wihch usually means small and independently owned, and the quality can vary greatly. Is either something you would consider and should be used as your upper limit? Covax Posted February 15, 2006 Author Report Posted February 15, 2006 Hi,Yesh 70$ per room in 3* sound perfect for me.I'm not very picky use...
thereuare Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 At the 3* level in Miami you have two re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* South Beach...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $55, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Selelct 3* South Beach adn re-bid zone2...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $65.If rejected you can take the 3* on Hotwire for $68.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. thereuare Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Not really sure what this property is... lots of hotels are close, but nothing an exact match and difficult to find info on all the hotels because there are so many small, independent, boutique properties in South Beach.
