Going to Las Vegas next month for a bachelor party (hastily scheduled) and looking for a one-night stay on the north end of the Strip. What's a good bid to put in for a Saturday night and what will I end up with? (Would prefer a casino resort, not Trump.)

Welcome to BetterBidding!

At current rates for this solo Saturday nite i'm doubtful that you will be successful for a 4.5* or better in this zone for something other than the Trump.

While not preferred, would The Trump be an acceptable outcome?

If you bid 4.5 stars north strip, can you still get trump? Will they ever go above the star range where you bid? Trying to get Mirage but don't want to get stuck with Trump while bidding for 4.5 star North Strip.

Sloop,

Welcome to BetterBidding!

The star rating you choose on PRICELINE is the minimum that you're willing to accept, so it is possible that your 4.5* bid is updated to a 5* hotel... therefore, bidding 4.5* does not help you avoid the Trump as a possibility.

If you want to avoid a particular hotel, I'd go with HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS, as the information given by those services can often allow for one to make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing.

Maybe if I lower my settings to 4 stars I can wind up with the Mirage and save some of my dignity.

As The Mirage is currently 4.5* rated by PRICELINE why would you bid 4 star if that is what you are hoping for?  What if you instead receive the 4* SLS Las Vegas Hotel and Casino (which is located a bit north on the strip)?

Why not go with a PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE offer, as we're advising, if you are trying to target/avoid specific properties within the zone?
