thereuare Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 Welcome to BetterBidding! The Envision Hotel Boston would be my best guess for this one. Is this the area you need to stay in, as i'm seeing higher rated hotels for less in zones that are typically more centrally located for the average tourist? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. If you go for the one above let us know how it goes... or let us know more about your needs for this trip and we will advise accordingly. Kalkat1 Posted April 18, 2016 Author Report Posted April 18, 2016 Hello, yes, trying to get walking distance to Fenway. Hotwire comes up with a 3* and says last person got buck minster ( which I would be fine with) but it says indoor pool. And the buck minster doesn't have a pool.... This is confusing and is like playing a game lol
thereuare Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 I think most visitors to the city choose to stay in the downtown/core and then take the T (their subway/train system) to Fenway... if you're only going to Fenway and that is the only activity on this trip, then perhaps walking distance to the field is the only criteria, but if also using the time to explore the city you may want to consider the 'downtown' area (which has more hotels and likely not as inflated pricing as being directly near the hotel) In regards to HOTWIRE, the "Last person got ___" information is relative to the last person who bought a hotel in the zone at this star rating... it is not in reference to the specific hotel currently being offered (which may or may not be the hotel that was last purchased... in your example above it appears the last hotel of this star rating purchased in the zone is different then the one currently being offered, given the lack of a pool at the property at the 'suggested' property) Does the Envision Hotel Boston not work for your needs? You can also search '1 mile of fenway park boston ma' and see a good overview of your hotels that are within walking distance of the ballpark and how much more/less it would cost to go up/down in star rating OR to stay closer/further from your ideal location (or to stay more in the city and take the T to the game) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Kalkat1 Posted April 18, 2016 Author Report Posted April 18, 2016 Thank you so much, are only in town for the game. Thank you for the HOTWIRE explanation, I will keep my eye on it and hope the buck minster, commonwealth or verb come up. And will definitely report what I come up with
crito Posted April 19, 2016 Report Posted April 19, 2016 Just FYI: several of the Copley/Back Bay hotels are a lot closer to Fenway Park than the EnVision is. The Sheraton and Hilton are about 15 minutes, the Westin Copley Pl. and the Marriott are about 20 minutes walking. The EnVision is quite a lot further and its neighborhood is probably not what you're looking for. You're right that the Commonwealth would be perfect but during baseball season they don't have a lot of unsold inventory! Good luck.
Kalkat1 Posted April 20, 2016 Author Report Posted April 20, 2016 Booked a refundable backup room at buck minster... But still holding out hope for a Hotwire deal. Will check out the Copley/back Bay Area. Thanks for the extra info, much appreciated :)
Kalkat1 Posted April 20, 2016 Author Report Posted April 20, 2016 Has anyone won on the verb hotel? I couldn't find any listings for it on the site
thereuare Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 If the hotel doesn't appear in the Priceline Hotel List or the Hotwire Hotel List then the property has not yet been reported to the board. Regardless, do you think it's one of the hotels that are appearing on PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE?
