We do want to do a staycation over 4th of July weekend. The reason it changed was because family decided they wanted to do a staycation over the holiday.

 

I did look that the hotwire hotel list: 

I was thinking this one was the Montelucia.

This one has 3 different options in the hotwire list and I wasn't sure which one it would be.

This one I didn't see anything on the list for desert ridge area with 4.5 stars. I was hoping it may be the JW Marriot at Desert Ridge, but I don't see that Hotwire works with that hotel.

This one there is only a 3.5* hotel listed in the Carefree section of the hotwire hotel list so I have no idea which one that is.

Best guess for this one would be the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia.

 

Given the one above is 5* rated, has a 4.5/5.0 TA rating, and is nearly half of the price of the others (most of which are lower rated)... is there a reason why not this one? (are there any hotels that you're trying to target that are worth nearly twice as much??)

The Montelucia is an amazing hotel, we have booked through here before, and will again. We are going with toddlers and while montelucia is amazing it isn't very fun for kids. We are looking for a place that has a kid friendly pool. We would love the JW Marriot Desert Ridge, Phoenician, or any other place that has a fun pool for kids as that is what we will be mainly there. Thank you for your help. I will let you know when we book which hotel we get!
