cousinkap Posted April 1, 2016 Report Posted April 1, 2016 I am trying to get 3.5 or 4 stars in Copley Square, Downtown or theater district. I have bid up to $155 but have been unsuccessful. Any tips or suggestions?
thereuare Posted April 1, 2016 Report Posted April 1, 2016 Please conclude your previous Miami South Beach and Hotwire Chicago threads with whatever you ended up doing for each of those trips, then reply here and we will have a look at and comment on your Boston trip above. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. cousinkap Posted April 1, 2016 Author Report Posted April 1, 2016 I didn't end up using priceline for Miami trip and Chicago my GF surprised me with the room. Threads have been updated
AaronJB Posted April 1, 2016 Report Posted April 1, 2016 What would be your desired max bid per night for this stay? cousinkap Posted April 1, 2016 Author Report Posted April 1, 2016 i would like to stay under $165 since another bidder got it for $135 the same dates.
thereuare Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 I believe this is the Priceline hotel win you are referring to which is not for the same dates as your own, as that win was for 4/29-5/1, whereas your dates are 4/29-5/2, and rates can differ substantially from one day to the next. I'm not saying this is the case, but what if rates for each of your 3 nites (individually) were: $135 - $135 - $350 ... would you still expect to be able to replicate the other user's win for $135 (given their win was only for the first 2 nites)? To bid up to $165/nite, did you want to first try for a 4* hotel up to this amount, then if rejected lower to the 3.5* level... OR is the goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? Please confirm and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
