Nstephens Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 I need help identifying a Hotwire hotel. It is a 5* Central Park south hotel. 2 adults, April 22-24. Amenities are fitness center, business center, restaurant(s), and Internet. It is listed at $224 a night and says the original price is $770 a night. It is 75% recommended.
Nstephens Posted March 29, 2016 Author Report Posted March 29, 2016 When I check the BiddingHelper.com link it seems the price is $219 instead of $224. But the amenities are the same as I listed. Thanks!
thereuare Posted March 29, 2016 Report Posted March 29, 2016 Welcome to BetterBidding! A guess would be the 1 Hotel Central Park but with so few amenities showing for this property, and almost all present at most 5* hotels in NYC, it's difficult to say with any degree of confidence. I'm very familiar with NYC.. is there something in particular you're looking for in a hotel for this stay and what is your maximum budget (per nite before taxes/fees) as i'm seeing other 5* offers for less that may be of interest. What are your needs for this trip? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Nstephens Posted March 29, 2016 Author Report Posted March 29, 2016 Thanks for responding! I'm wanting to stay in the $250 a night or less range. We are hoping to stay Central Park south of Times Square area. Also not opposed to Rockefeller center area either. My main question is, are the savings on hot rates always what is advertised? We recently used a hot rate for a hotel in Charleston and it was only a $20 savings versus an $80 as it was advertised.
AaronJB Posted March 29, 2016 Report Posted March 29, 2016 Hotwire shows a % discount. That is not the discount for that particular listing but a discount off the average price for comparable properties in the area. When searching for NYC for 4/22-24 on BiddingHelper.com, I'm seeing a 5* in the Rockefeller Center zone for $190. Full amenities are: Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Spa, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible -- Possible match for the Lotte New York Palace. Would this possibility be of interest? thereuare Posted March 30, 2016 Report Posted March 30, 2016 The likely Lotte New York Palace above would be a good option that meets your criteria and i will also add this 4.5* Rockefeller Center hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $188/nite with Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Free Internet, Fitness Center, Non Smoking ==> best guess for this one would be the Sofitel New York, which gets great reviews, as evidenced by the 9+ user review rating for this offer Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Nstephens Posted March 20, 2018 Author Report Posted March 20, 2018 Closing this topic. We ended up not using HOTWIRE to book.

Nstephens Posted March 21, 2018 Author Report Posted March 21, 2018 We booked a Queen room at a boutique hotel called The Archer. We booked directly through their website and paid right around $300 a night. I highly recommend, it was a great hotel and location.
thereuare Posted March 21, 2018 Report Posted March 21, 2018 ... also seems to be quite a bit more expensive than many of the 5* hotels above. Glad to hear you had a great trip and thank you for closing this thread with your decision.
