TMcLean
This is my first time bidding so any advice or input would be great. I'm hoping for either a 4 or 4.5* hotel around C$100. There was a hotwire hotel that came up about 2 weeks ago for C$98 but I didn't get on it fast enough so I'm hoping to see if I can find a similar deal now. I've read some of the thread and not sure what the bidding zones are or what they mean but if I could get a better understanding of this before I go ahead and try and bid on something it could be beneficial. Any input would be great. Thanks. Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. When you go to PRICELINE and start the bidding process, there is a page where you select star rating and zone. If you bid for a particular star rating and zone, you have to be willing to accept any hotels at that star rating in that shaded zone area. Please confirm which zone/s would be acceptable. Thanks. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Please post to the board in US Dollars as it keeps all prices consistent and not subject to interpretation based upon future currency fluctuations. For this trip.. are you willing to pay more for a 4.5* hotel vs. a 4* hotel or is the goal the least expensive 4 star or better? What is your maximum bid for this trip (in US Dollars... and your maximum bid at each star level if you're wiling to pay more for a 4.5* vs. a 4*) You can read about re-bidding and how to determine your re-bid zones here: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained (currently at the 4.5* level you have TWELEVE re-bid zones... NINE re-bid zones at the 4 star level) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. TMcLean
The zone is Downtown - Convention Center, Coal Harbour and Stanley Park. We're really only looking in this area. We'd like the least expensive so maybe 4* is more realistic. I think we can go as high as $150 if possible. Link to comment
thereuare
When bidding 4* in Vancouver you have NINE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 4* Coal Harbor... Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $103, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $105 If the above is rejected you can take this 4 star Coal Harbor hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $105/nite with: Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Free Internet, Business Center, Fitness Center ==> my guess for this one would be the Pinnacle Hotel Vancouver Harbourfront Any questions feel free to ask. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
