Finally bit the bullet and booked a flight to Berlin today -- we are needing accommodation for three nights in July.  The Hotwire selection that we are most interested in is as follows:

 

Dates: July 10 - 13 - 2 Adults

City Centre - Tiergarten - Berlin Zoo

$73 USD

Amenities (from Hotwire Easy View):

Indoor pool, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness centre, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Centre, Internet Access, Spa Services, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower.

 

Any ideas? Any perspectives on this area of Berlin?

I'm not certain for this one... a new amenity set for the Pullman Berlin Schweizerhof would be my guess, but i'm far from certain for this one.

Even if it is some other property, the 100% recommendation, along with the 4.5/5.0 TA rating, should ensure that it's a quality property.

 

If you'd like a more confident guess i'm also seeing this 5* City Center - Tiergarten - Berlin Zoo hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $88/nite with:

Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Free Internet, Business Center, Fitness Center

... my guess here would be the Hotel Palace Berlin, should this one work well for your needs

EDIT TO ADD: just noticed the $88 is for a single bedded room... you would need one of the other more suitable options if wanting for double occupancy

Thanks for this......I'm pondering the possibilities and will make a decision in the next day or so.  The option you mention above is a Priceline Express Deal, yes?  I'm super interested in the possibility of the Hotel Palace Berlin but too bad about the single bed option.  I took that to mean just one bed that would accommodate 2 adults but maybe not? We are definitely going to go with a HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS option, we just aren't sure which one yet.  I will absolutely post the final decision here.

Just returned from a trip to Europe that included three nights in Berlin -- accommodations at the Pullman Berlin Schweizerhof booked through HOTWIRE -- with the help of the intelligence on this board.  Absolutely LOVED this hotel. Fabulous location, incredible staff, comfortable, big bed, air conditioning (was really hot there), lovely (but small) bathroom and fabulous pool and gym facilities (where you can order a beer after a swim in the pool).
