We have been trying to win a hotel (priceline) for the past few weeks but have been rejected only.

We would like a 4* hotel (only area we'd like to stay is Miami Downtown)

Travel dates are: 20th-23rd May April 2016 (3 nights)

We went up to USD 137 so far but been only rejected.  USD

Downtown Miami Express Deal offer for 4* is 184 USD.

Is it too early to bid?

Do you have a strategy for us?

THX so much in advance

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Do we have the dates correct, May April 20-23, as i'm seeing this 4* Downtown hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) with Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Business Center, Fitness Center, and at $133/nite it's priced less than you have already bid.

Does this work for your needs and budget?

Rates do look somewhat high for these dates.. do you know of some event that is taking place in the area that would drive up demand?

What is your maximum bid for a 4* hotel for this trip?  Using our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find for an acceptable hotel for this stay?

What is the $191/nite hotel... is it refundable?

Your $500 all-in comes to about $140/nite bid price, which is not much more than you have already tried up to $137/nite... is your gameplan to stick with this limit for the next few weeks on hopes of some lower priced inventory being released (with the risk that rates just continue to move higher)?

I double checked-Usd191 is not a downtown hotel.

We are thinking about lowering star level to 3,5* the holiday inn downtown miami is available on mapsabdhotels for usd 170.

Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

While not ideal, you could (confirm all dates on the landing pages):

Buy this 3.5* Downtown hotel for $86/nite with Restaurant and Free Internet amenities... my guess for this one would be the Yve Hotel Miami.

This would leave a LOT of money left in your budget for the more expensive Friday nite, you could:

Splurge for this 5 Star Downtown hotel at $246/nite with Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Free Internet, Business Center, Fitness Center (and an outstanding 9+ user review rating)... my guess would be the Four Seasons.

If you want to bid for a 4* i think you're likely looking in the $140-$155 range... a 3* will likely cost you in the $110-$130 area.
