SnapTundra Posted February 2, 2016 Report Posted February 2, 2016 Bid $75 for Clearwater Beach and was refused. Priceline suggested to bid signif. more ($133?, doing this after the trip). Added St. Pete Beach-Treasure Island and re-bid $81. Offer was accepted. This is a very nice property and would go back there at the drop of a hat. Located on Gulf Drive across from a public beach which was very wide with nice white sand. Back side of property overlooks a canal in a residential area. About a mile south of John's Pass and just north of the Treasure Island causeway. Very clean with pleasant staff. Small hot tub and outdoor pool. No breakfast, but $5 coupon to Waffle House which we did not use. Decent views of the beach from the units closer to the office on the second and third floors. Nice elevated deck on the front side, overlooking the beach, on which to eat or have a cup of coffee/glass of wine. Asked the front desk clerk typical price ranges---she said during mid-Feb to end of March they may be as much as $240/night. This was a very good deal. Right up the street from the Bilmar (where Sloppy Joe's is) which didn't look nearly as well cared for.
