juno123 Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 Just to preface - Trump was the one hotel I didn't want and I specifically avoided the North area to avoid getting it - that said, haha, after all of my research either there was a system error or apparently I got distracted and clicked on the wrong Express deal in a hurry. (Despite Trump's politics) it looks like an amazing property. I'm just usually spot on with bidding and express deals and I'd narrowed down the 5* South Strip Express offer to the Vdara - so I was a bit annoyed at myself for picking the wrong property or PRICELINE if it was a system error. I was almost certain it said South instead of North so I did call Priceline to see if they could help out and surprisingly they were very helpful and did offer to contact the hotel to see if the charges could be reversed. The rep spent about 15 minutes working on it. The hotel refused, of course, but I still thought it was great customer service on PRICELINE's part to at least look into it. Just goes to show that it doesn't hurt to ask. Still, got a great deal and can't wait to go on the trip. I used the link and love this site! All of my friends call me the "priceline guru" so I am still annoyed with myself for clicking on the wrong hotel after all my research. I first tried bidding low at $55 *5 South Strip (declined) $65 *5 adding North Strip and both were declined. I think I could've gotten it cheaper but I decided to go with the $80 PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal (Apparently North Strip and not South Strip). I'm travelling with a toddler so I am more particular about where we're staying and wanted to make sure the hotel wasn't a casino and also non-smoking. If we weren't with a baby then I'd have taken the 4* $47 South Strip Express offer. But in this case it was worth the extra money for the peace of mind. Anyhow, here are the details. 5 Star Hotel in Las Vegas Strip North Area for $80/night Guest score 8.0 out of 10 Guaranteed Amenities: Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center 1 King Bed - Superior Room With City View - Free Wifi, Kitchenette *Resort fee (Mandatory fee of $32.48 per room per night is collected at the hotel).
AaronJB Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Sorry to hear that the result wasn't what you'd hoped for. Glad the hotel will still work out okay though, and thank you for your compliments on Betterbidding. Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. Enjoy your stay.
