no1special_1999 Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Hi,Would anyone know what the 3* hotel in Downtown Las Vegas? The dates that I used was 5/26/06 to 5/29/06. I know that the 4* is the Golden Nugget. The hotel amenities for the 3* hotel include a Casino, Pool(s), and Restaurant. TIA!
thereuare Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding! This is a match for Fitzgerald's so that would be our best guess. Are you looking to stay Downtown or forced to due to price?Let us know whatever you choose to do or if we can be of further help. no1special_1999 Posted January 27, 2006 Author Report Posted January 27, 2006 Thanks for the information thereuare. I had a feeling that it was the Fitzgeralds after doing a search and finding that was one of the few hotels in the Downtown area that was rated a 3 star. The reason why I'm trying to find a hotel in the downtown area is because my parents will be staying at Main Street Hotel. My husband and I are going to Vegas to celebrate my father's 70th Birthday and we wanted to stay near them during our stay.
thereuare Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 What is your budget for this stay? How much is the Golden Nugget... probably little argument that it is the nicest Fremont Street hotel. no1special_1999 Posted January 27, 2006 Author Report Posted January 27, 2006 The Golden Nugget is $94/night on Hotwire. I tried Priceline twice and got both offers rejected. I tried $55 and they countered with $99 and I just tried again with $65 and got a counter offer of $88. With tax & fees the cost will be around $100/night for the $88 rate, which is what I budgeted for. Call me a cheapo but I would be happier with a offer of $75. Do you think if I continue to use PL will the counter offers continue to go down... or do you think I should take the $88 rate.
thereuare Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 The counter-offers can almost always be undercut (and chances are the counter offers didn't lower in price because the price went down... simply because Priceline was trying to make more money the first time). This is how i would proceed on your next round of bidding, as you have two re-bid zones when bidding 4* in Las Vegas. If you''re not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Freemont...Bid $72, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $76, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Selelct 4* Freemont and re-bid zone2...Bid $79, if rejecadd re-bid zone1...Bid $83.Any questions (like confirming your re-bid zones if you're unsure) feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
