:) My Husband and I use Priceline often and have almost always have a great experience. We usually check at this site first but I've never posted before.

So, last weekend we thought we had a good deal when we got the Villa Florence for $70. As another user wrote, the location is great and Kimptons are nice. However, when we went to check in they didn't have our reservation in their system yet (it was a last minute trip booked the same day). We didn't mind waiting for them to fax Priceline but the woman was very rude and huffy about the whole thing. She was obviously looking down on us due to our Priceline booking. She shoved a Kimpton pamphlet at us and suggested that next time we book through Kimpton so our reservation so we could get in on their points program (big whoop). Then she said she could only give us a noisy third floor room or quieter a smoking room. Somehow I doubt this was true as the hotel was pretty empty. But, when we chose the non-smoking third floor it was mysteriously located on the 5th floor. Sure some people have walk in closets that are bigger than this room was but at least it was quiet-ish. And hey, we only paid $70.

This should have been the end of our troubles until I decided to take advantage of the offer on a little card in the bathroom to request COMPLEMENTARY robes during our stay. Instead of calling down for them, as we were already leaving to go out for the evening, I made the fatal mistake on our way out of asking the same snooty desk lady if she would mind having them sent up. She looked at me like I had asked her to place the robe on my body herself and give me a rubdown while she was at it. Then with a long sigh she looked at her computer screen and said "oh, robes.. robes? Well.. let's see. Oh yes, those are only available to VIP guest and you are... not."

Ok, this really pissed me off and fairly much put me in a bad news for the rest of the night. When we got back my husband had a talk with the night shift desk guy who was WONDERFUL and REALLY NICE and understood SERVICE. He talked us down from checking out, had robes in our room in 5 minutes and gave us the name of the Snooty Desk Lady so we could complain. We also assured us that their policy is to treat everyone the same. He was great. Because of him I would concider booking a Kimpton again. But never at the Villa Florence!
