vocalocal Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 Hi, I'm looking for a 3.5 - 4* hotel from March 5 - 14 for around $80-85 USD/night in one of the following areas: Central Park South Chelsea Area Downtown - Financial District Empire State Building Area Greenwich Village Hell's Kitchen Lower East Side Madison Square Garden - Convention Area Midtown East Midtown West SoHo - Tribeca Times Square - Theatre District Union Square - East Village Is this at all possible? I don't want to be by the airport or in Brooklyn/Queens. Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
AaronJB Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 To confirm are you looking for $80-85 "all-in" or $80-85 + taxes/fees? $75 is a fine starting point at the 4* level in Midtown but my guess is that you're likely looking at more around the $90-115 level, depending on zone. PRICELINE EXPRESS actually has a rather good deal for a 4* in MTW for $97 w/fitness, restaurant, business. While these are common amenities, I'd say the Sheraton would be a definite possibility in this case. vocalocal Posted January 12, 2016 Author Report Posted January 12, 2016 I was looking at $80-85 all in. $75 + fees/taxes is about as high as I'd like to go. I bid $68 on the above areas, 4 star, no luck. Added Queensborough Bridge area and bid $72, still no luck. I'm leery of downgrading to 3.5 stars, especially with such a wide search criteria.

At current rates this isn't realistic for a 4* hotel in NYC (nad likely not for a 3.5* hotel either) Using our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com, what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel?
