Hello,

Totally new to this to hoping you can help.

Looking for a hotel in NYC from 27th jan - 1st Feb.

1 person

3*-4*

$58 a night (is that impossible?)

Midtown/lower east side/east village/greenwich/soho/chelsea/west village/gramercy park

Own bathroom and free wifi

Would be great if you could help me out. I've had a look at online guides but mega confused and it was suggested that I ask for a strategy here.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

$58 including taxes/fees unfortunately is not going to be realistic for NYC.  $58 is possible in NYC for these dates via bidding, but free wifi on top does make things somewhat more difficult.

I'm seeing a 4* on HOTWIRE in the LES area w/Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business for $70 (you may see a slightly different price.)

You could bid on PRICELINE and get something a tad cheaper, but when you bid, you select a zone and a star rating and it will show you guaranteed amenities. In a place like NYC, free wifi is not going to be that common and there is the possibility that you could be upgraded to the next highest star rating which may not have free wifi.

When I select Lower East Side, I see 3.5* and 4* showing free wifi (PLEASE CONFIRM THAT YOU SEE THIS AS WELL.) You could try bidding to see if you could get a price at the 3.5* level around a $50-55 price tag, but I would be surprised if the service would accept a bid much lower than that.

Also, I'm seeing a 3.5* on PRICELINE EXPRESS for $62 w/Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Business Center, Fitness Center in the Lower East Side area. That would be a possible match for the Comfort Inn Near Financial District.

Or you can go for the HOTWIRE listing.

Please let us know if you have any questions about any of the above *before* bidding or booking.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
