Chattaben Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 I will be traveling to NYC Jan 16-19 and was hoping to stay in Midtown. Is it unreasonable to think that I could get a 4* for less than $100/night? I know this is the slower season but how much of a discount should I expect? I looked at the advertised rate on the 4* hotel websites and they range anywhere from 227/night @ The Lexington, $183/night @The Fitpatrick, $125 @ The Roosevelt, and $179 @ Double tree Hilton

thereuare Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 What is more important... being in the MTE zone or price? I'm seeing this 4 star Midtown East NYC (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $106/nite with Business and Fitness amenities listed... best guess for this one would be the Hilton Manhattan East. Given this offer just a few dollar more than you'd ideally like to spend, is trying to target this property worth the extra $6/ntie... or do you first want to try bidding for a lower price? If you want to try bidding, did you want to restrict your bidding to only the MTE OR is the goal the least expensive of any of your acceptable zone? Chattaben Posted January 8, 2016 Author Report Posted January 8, 2016 Hey thanks. I really want to stay in MTE or the Grand Central area. I saw that $106 price on priceline and that's why I assumed I might get a room for lower. I also looked at the hotwire express deals and found room for $97/night in the Grand Central Area that offered this: "FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access" I know this is the priceline forum. Should I repost this over on the hotwire board to get some educated guesses as to which ones this could possibly be?
thereuare Posted January 9, 2016 Report Posted January 9, 2016 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the "ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN" button on the lower right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion. My best guess for this one would be the Club Quarters Grand Central (which is 3.5 star rated on Priceline ), and thus the reason for the price difference. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
