Bunkersct Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 We are looking for a 4-5* hotel in NYC, preference for the following zones (prioritized): * Midtown West * Madison Square Garden * Empire State Building Area * Central Park South Questions: 1) does starting at 90USD seem reasonable? 2) what re-bid zones would I have? 3) given the answer on above, do I start by choosing all 4 areas or start With my highest preference and then add the next + increase With 10USD? IN advance, thanks a lot. br mrT
thereuare Posted January 9, 2016 Report Posted January 9, 2016 Welcome to BetterBidding! Sorry for the delayed reply as we were doing some work on our back-end systems and as a results a few posts were missed in getting reviewed, this being one of them. Few points to clarify regarding your inquiry above and a few additional comments... What is more important, price vs. location? Are you willing to pay more to stay in the MTW zone vs. the ESB zone OR is the least expensive 4* or better hotel in any of your acceptable zone the goal for this trip? (as this will determine how you go about bidding, which zones to add at which point in time, and how you make your bid increments) NOTE that the CPS zone contains the Hudson Hotel, which while well located, has notoriously small rooms (even by NYC standards), so you will need decide if this would be an acceptable outcome. What is your maximum bid for this trip? My initial thought is that (at this point in time) you will likely need to be in the $110-$125 area to be successful for a 4* hotel in one of the zones above. When bidding 4* in NYC you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding (highly recommended if you're new to the subject).
