Thank you.  I looked it up and it doesn't look like it will work (location/reviews).  I will check to see if rates come down.  I am staying at the Cambria Blue Lagoon for 17-19th, so I'll hope that the rate will go down and we can just add a night through HOTWIRE.

Sorry for the confusion...The other nights were booked using choice hotel reward points.  

 

Yes, I don't see any rates other than the original hotel for $67 that are desirable.  However, I'm hoping that as the date draws nearer, the rates will go down...is that not something I should count on?  we are flexible in that we can stay at my friend's house in the worst case scenario.  (I'd rather not, since he has 4 kids, one being a baby, and we'd have to sleep in his foyer!  Also, I'm not sure when else we'd be using the HOTWIRE bucks that will expire by November).

It's something you can hope for... but certainly not something that you can count on.

If a hotel gets more new reservations and fewer cancellations in the coming then expected, rates would rise from here, and vice-versa. Like anything else, rates are mostly a function of supply/demand.

This is more than we wanted to spend (ideally $70-$80), but it says it is 100% recommended.  If this is a highly rated tripadvisor hotel, we would be willing to spend the extra $.  We are hoping that it is closer to the east end of Doral (closer to airport/Miami Springs).  Thanks!

Unfortunately, this listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. However, with a 100% approval rating from Hot.wire customers, it certainly would seem like a safe bet.

Just wanted to close this thread as OP.  this hotel went up in price and we didn't end up getting a hotel for this one night.  We are going to stay with my friend instead.  It is a good reminder that if you don't have a back-up plan, then book when you think the rate is fair.
