crapster22 Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Hi everyone just joined this excellent board after stumbling across it by mistake. Basically am having a bit of a nightmare with my weeks stay for the dates listed. In October I managed to get a friend in at the alladin for $110 for the week through priceline but held out booking myself as hoped to get it for less- 2 weeks ago my counter offers for these dates were for $130 but now it is getting ridiculous and going up to $200-I had read somewhere that prices decrease as the dates get closer-is this not the case for this week or shall i continue to hold out?Apologies if I have rambled
thereuare Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates can decrease as your dates approach if actual bookings come in less than expected and the hotel is faced with unexpected excell inventory; however, as you're finding out, the opposite is true if bookings come in stronger than expected... the hotel has little reason to offer discounted rooms if occupancy levels are strong. Since this is a one week stay, and rates vary so much from mid-week to weekend, are you willing to SPLIT YOUR PRICELINE BID?What is your expected budget?
