Travelgirl22
Looking to go to Sugar Bowl (where my cousin MAY be playing his last season)! Just did Bidding.Helper search and found this hotel (copied from page): Downtown New Orleans Rated 7.0 out of 10 (or higher) Business Center Fitness Center Save 32% or more* $ 162 per night Choose Only 2 amenities listed. Can't find a PRICELINE EXPRESS hotel for 2.5* downtown on your list. Any ideas?? Thanx for your help! Link to comment
thereuare
For what dates is the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer appearing? Are you ready to commit to this stay at this point in time without knowing if he will be playing in this game or not? Travelgirl22
*S&(@! What an idiot! Can't believe I didn't post dates. I was looking at 12/31-1/03/15. The official games won't be set until after a Saturday playoff game. If I purchase a PL express and buy trip insurance, can I cancel if his team goes to the Citrus Bowl instead? -TravelGirl22 :D Link to comment
thereuare
No, insurance (you should read the terms yourself) only covers certain events, mostly health related issues... not if your team doesn't make a certain bowl game. ;) Let us know once your plans are firm and you're willing to commit to a purchase and we will see what is offered at that time. Travelgirl22
Hey! It's official, booked the flights for my NYE trip to Sugar Bowl! Just did the search again on Bidding.Helper (12/31-1/03) and now the 2.5* hotel is listed at $200. Same two amenities listed: Business Center, Fitness Center I would also like to bid on 2.5* hotels on PL, but not sure which properties would come up. Right now on PL the only qualifying hotel is the Holiday Inn Express, currently at $319/nt, but who knows if this is the PRICELINE EXPRESS hotel. Please advise. thanx! Link to comment
thereuare
Which zone(s) within New Orleans are you willing to accept? If bidding 2.5* what is your maximum bid price? Let us know the above and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Travelgirl22
I would like to stay within a few miles of the Superdome, so Downtown/Superdome and Warehouse District would be the best options. My maximum for 2.5* would be $162 However, I note that there are no free rebid zones for 2.5* in New Orleans, so worried about how often I'll need to wait to rebid. Thanx! :D Link to comment
Romelle
You can bid every 2 hours now. Link to comment
thereuare
With no re-bid zones at the 2.5* level you can try bidding as follows: Select 2.5* Downtown... Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE... Select 2.5* Warehouse... Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE... Select 2.5* Downtown and Warehouse... Bid $150 If the above is rejected, wait 2 hours and re-try (once again using this PRICELINE link, and not the link in any emails that priceline may send informing you that you're eligible to bid again): Select 2.5* Downtown... Bid $160, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE... Select 2.5* Warehouse... Bid $160, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE... Select 2.5* Downtown and Warehouse... Bid $162 Any questions feel free to ask. Travelgirl22
Hey! Just want to close out this thread. I tried the rebid strategy for a 2.5* hotel in downtown NOLA up to $149 on Sunday but was not successful. I decided to use my Starwood points and booked Le MEridien for my dates. I was hoping to save those points for a cruise I'm taking in February, will need a room for one night, prob in FL, but I will review this page and figure out an awesome bid strategy or hotel from PRICELINE EXPRESS / Hot.wire when the time comes. Thanks for everything and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :D Link to comment
thereuare
Thanks for closing this thread with your decision... good that you had the points as a back-up and hopefully rates will be more affordable for your pre-cruise stay.
