greenchip Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Thanks for all the help :) - I've been trying to get two rooms for the weekend (2/10/06 - 2/12/06) in Fisherman's Wharf for a week or so. The Sheraton site was showing $204/nt as the cheapest room for thatweekend while Priceline was showing the cheapest 4* in FW at $179/nt for this weekend. After reading the hints and successes, I tried a disciplined approach to get the Sheraton - but started at $69 - the cheapest successful rate that anyone had got in the last 6 months. First I bid $69 for 4* - Fisherman's Wharf - Declined. Then I added Cathedral Hill as a free rebid and raised my bid to $71 for 4*- DeclinedSo I did a new bid at $73 for 4* - FW + Civic Centre - DeclinedThen I added CH and rebid to $75 for 4* - DeclinedSo I started a new bid at $77 for 4* - FW + South SF - DeclinedThen I added CH and rebid $79 for 4* - DeclinedSo I started another new bid at $80 (thought I must be getting close) for 4* - FW + CC +SSF - DeclinedThen I added CH and rebid $81 for 4* - Declined.I waited 72 hours and just finished rebidding using the same strategy -$82 - Declined (but they offered me the chance to add $22 and rebid - which I declined)$84 - Declined$85 - Declined$86 - Declined (but they offered me a rebid if I added $22 - which I declined)$87 - Declined$88 - Declined$89 - Declined$90 - Accepted!!!! (I was about to switch my attention to USE and USW 4* - knowing that I could get an additional rebid now by using FW up to $90).Very pleased.
