edvc520 Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 Hi All, I have tried to use the strategies here for like two times previously for New York, but everything seems to be changed. Only two rebidding zone now?Any how, if anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated.I am looking for booking a four star hotel for Dec 9-13 for a max bid at $180Would stay in anywhere below central park. Thanks for your help in advance!
thereuare Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 Would stay in anywhere below central park. Welcome Back! To avoid any confusion, please list the zones you're willing to to accept, by PRICELINE name, and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. However, i will add that seasonally this is one of the most expensive weekends in NYC and at current rates it may take closer to $200+ to be successful for a 4* or better. If your dates are flexible at all, rates drop substantially the following week (so if you could postpone this trip to 12/16-12/20, or even 12/13-12/17, it will save you some money) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. edvc520 Posted November 22, 2015 Author Report Posted November 22, 2015 I can go with 3.5* if needed. And not to picky about location. Would prefer Time Square area, or Soho area. Thank you
thereuare Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 Would stay in anywhere below central park.Would prefer Time Square area, or Soho area. The above are two very different requirements... to avoid any confusion, please list the zones (by PRICELINE name) that you're willing to accept. We will try for whatever you'd like, but note that at current rates, even at the 3.5* level, i think you're likely going to need $200+ to be successful for these dates. edvc520 Posted November 22, 2015 Author Report Posted November 22, 2015 Thank you, If i were to choose only one area.. Soho area it is. I guess max bid $200?
thereuare Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 If i were to choose only one area.. Soho area it is.The more zones you choose the better your chances of success, and the better deal you will likely get, as it gives more hotels the ability to accept your bid amount... if only bidding Soho you will likely need to be in the mid-$200's at this point in time, imo. You've gone from 'anywhere south of Central Park' --> Times Square or Soho --> Soho only ... but with your budget i think you need to be moving to expand areas to increase your chances, not narrow your acceptable zone. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll go from there.
