Looked back to posts dating 2 years ago and it seemed like starting the bid about 12 days before the stay date seemed like a good idea for 4/4.5* hotels for November in the Millenium Park area (also booked a refundable hotel just in case I couldn't get a good booking). Not many winning bids posted for November for this area during the past 2 years but I determined that 76 was a good starting point. First bid was November 1st and and after a series of unaccepted bids, finally got my 32nd bid accepted at $91/night. I'll be saving over 250 thanks to all the good info I've gotten.
