teixido Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 I need to stay in Stockholm from 11/29/2015 tie 12/06/2015 and would love to get some help on a pricing strategy for Price.line. Preferably Normalm or Sodermalm. PL express suggests a $134/night rate but I'm hoping to get a better rate.

teixido Posted November 5, 2015 Author Report Posted November 5, 2015 Hi there. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm thinking $110-ish, not firm and obviously below $100 would be preferable.

thereuare Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 I'm thinking $110-ish, not firm...We are going to provide you with a specific bidding strategy to follow, so we need to know exactly how much you'd like your maximum bid to be... we will of course start lower, but we need to know how high to go, as there is no sense in suggesting a strategy that goes higher then you're willing to bid. ;) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. teixido Posted November 6, 2015 Author Report Posted November 6, 2015 I understand. In that case, make it $110

teixido Posted November 6, 2015 Author Report Posted November 6, 2015 Hi theruare, Thanks for the help. I think I'll take the "feel free tu ask questions and/of confirm your re-bid zones" offer. My only doubt is this: I'll go for $75 4* at Normalm, if rejected, which other re-bid zone should I go for? For what I could understand, the idea is to add a zone that does not offer a 4* hotel anyway, but it's not clear on which zone would that be? I'm sorry if it's clear somehow and I'm just missing the point. In any case, maybe this would help other newbies on the forum as well :-) (While you get back at me, I'm going with what you suggested)
AaronJB Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 If you click on a zone, you can then see which star ratings can be bid on in that zone. If you cannot click on a star rating, then that star rating is not available to bid on in that zone. Please let us know if you need additional help confirming zones/have additional questions. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
teixido Posted November 7, 2015 Author Report Posted November 7, 2015 OK, So I placed a $75 bid and it was rejected. Could you guys provide me with the *EXACT* next steps? Which re-bid zone should I add at $80?Which re-bid zone should I add at $85? I'm sorry but I would rather sin of too many questions than being stranded on some remote location or a crappy hotel.
thereuare Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Start with the following... 1) Use the PRICELINE search box on the upper right of this page, enter your city and dates, and click "GO". 2) List each zone that is offered in this region. 3) Next to each zone list the highest star rating offered in the zone. The way to determine the highest star rating offered in the zone is by selecting the first zone i the list, then scrolling down to see the highest star rating selectable (ie- not greyed out). NEXT UNcheck the selected zone, place a checkmark in the next zone, and repeat the process for each zone in the region. Each time you take note of the highest star rating in the zone, make sure that only ONE zone is selected above. 4) post your findings and we'll take it from there If you don't follow the above just post back and we'll break it down further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
