stinger4711 Posted October 25, 2015 Report Posted October 25, 2015 Hi Everyone! I have been searching for the last two weeks on HOTWIRE everyday. I have been cross referencing the Hotel List that helps tell which hotel is which but for some reason I cant seem to figure this one out. I am looking to stay in Fort Lauderdale on November 14th to the 15th. I need to get two rooms and am requesting a 4 star hotel. I really am hoping for the W. I stayed there before through hotwire and have the list of the amenities from my email. I need two rooms for 4 people. I got two results in the 4 star, ft lauderdale beach area. One is 40 % recommended which I ruled out. The second one which I cant figure out says the following: 85% recommended, $104 a night (usually $218); 765 reviews Business center Pet friendly Restaurant (s) Fitness Center Pool Self-service laundry Near beach Resort Smoke-free rooms Now, when i cross reference with the guide on betterbidding.com, I cant figure it out. I thought that it couldnt be the W because it says pet friendly and under the guide pet friendly isnt mentioned but when I went back to the email when I stayed at the W it said pet friendly. Also, I thought it couldnt be the W because it said "near beach" and the guide says oceanfront but again when I went to my old email, it lists the W as "near beach" . Can someone help! Ive spent hours trying to figure this out. I looked at the amount of reviews, the percentages, etc but I have come up with nothing! Thank you! Ashley
thereuare Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 Welcome to BetterBidding! I believe HOTWIRE is experimenting (as they always are) with a new interface that is only showing a limited number of amenities for each hotel. I'm not certain, but my guess for the one above would be The Westin Beach Resort, Fort Lauderdale. I really am hoping for the W. I stayed there before through hotwire and have the list of the amenities from my email. Can you please add this previous win to the board as a NEW TOPIC, including the full list of amenities, as the details of this purchase could help another user in the future. stinger4711 Posted October 28, 2015 Author Report Posted October 28, 2015 THANK YOU! I tried to book it but unfortunately the deal was not there anymore. I am going to try to do priceline instead. Thanks for your help!

stinger4711 Posted October 30, 2015 Author Report Posted October 30, 2015 Thank you. I missed the deal so I am going to try to use PRICELINE and bid on a hotel instead. Thanks for the help!
stinger4711 Posted October 30, 2015 Author Report Posted October 30, 2015 I have read over the forum this past week and the tips are very helpful. I am still a bit confused. I was planning on using hotwire to book two rooms for one night in Fort Lauderdale on November 14th to the 15th but I missed the deal. I have decided to use PRICELINE instead. What would be the best way I should go about bidding on 2 hotel rooms for November 14th? I would like to stay at a 4 star hotel in Fort Lauderdale. I would like to stay on the beach. I am hoping to stay at The Westin on the beach or the W but I know the W is a little more pricey. I have always managed to stay at the W for under $100 a night through HOTWIRE luckily. I don't want to spend anymore than around $125 for each room for the night. Any tips on how I should go about bidding that would help in getting one of those hotels would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Ashley
thereuare Posted October 31, 2015 Report Posted October 31, 2015 I have decided to use PRICELINE instead. Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the lower right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion. I would like to stay on the beach. When bidding on PRICELINE you have to be willing to stay anywhere within the zone... there is no way to only bid on hotels that are located on the beach. Is this acceptable? I don't want to spend anymore than around $125 for each room for the night. We can suggest a strategy for whatever amount you'd like, but note that at current rates $125 does not seem like it will be enough for a 4* or better hotel in the Fort Lauderdale Beach zone... it will more likely take in the $150-175 range. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
