AaronJB Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the lower right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion. For the hotels above I'll guess: the 4.5* Beach w/Resort, Near Beach, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis, Spa, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower -- This listing hasn't been ID'd/reported, but I'd guess the Atlantic has been downgraded to 4.5*. 4* Beach Resort, Boutique, Oceanfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa -- I'll guess the Sonesta. Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if you have additional questions. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
lairdlinds Posted October 5, 2015 Author Report Posted October 5, 2015 Thank you for your response. Here's my question, how is this a discount if it's the Sonesta? Right now I could book the sonesta on hotwire for $153 a night. If the "secret deal" has it posted for $142 a night now, That's not even really worth the not knowing for sure which hotel I get. I really don't wan the sonesta hotel. Is there anyway this could be another hotel?
thereuare Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 ... how is this a discount if it's the Sonesta?Because $142 is less then $153... this may not be enough of a discount for you to make an 'opaque' purchase, but it is a discount (which is the idea behind out BiddingHelper.com... do one search and compare rates from HOTWIRE, PRICELINE EXPRESS, and 'regular retail rates' so that you can ensure that what you're about to buy is actually a deal. Sometimes the discounts are very deep... sometimes not so much. For example, if a hotel has very high occupancy and only one room left, they may offer that one room at a small little discount in order to get the non-refundable reservation on the books... on the otherhand, if a hotel has low occupancy for a given nite they will be more likely to offer a deep discount in order to fill rooms. Is there anyway this could be another hotel? We can't see the hotel names either, so it can always be something other then what we guess. For this offer i do some some inconsistencies with this being the Sonesta, so i'm not that confident that this is indeed the property being offered, but i don't have any additional insight into this one. What about the 4.5* property asked above above (which has excellent reviews)? I'm also seeing what i think is the W Fort Lauderdale for $191/nite and what may be the B Ocean Resort for $135/nite... would either of these be of any interest?
