A guess would be that the Downtown Grand has been upgraded to 3.5* since it was last reported.

thanks Aaron!  Do you know if hotwire has a history of not being exactly correct about the resort fee? My only skepticism is that the $20 fee matches 'the D Hotel' and the Downtown Grand now has a resort fee of $22.34. Is there a possibility that 'The D' could now be considcered a 3.5 star downtown resort?

The listing hasn't been ID'd/reported, but an upgraded Downtown Grand (which has been seen previously with this amenity set, but at the 3* level) would be my guess. Hot.wire lists "estimated" resort fees, not exact resort fees, so the resort fee listed is not a reliable indicator.

Both likely have the same $20 resort fee... but the $20 is before taxes, the $22.34 is after taxes. Some hotels show the resort fee before taxes and some after taxes.

I would consider these amounts to be the same and not indicative of one hotel vs. another.
