or30313 Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 I can usually figure it out, but I am at a real loss on this one mainly because the TripAdvisor review numbers. I'm trying to book a hotel for 2 adults and 2 children (typically much higher cost in NYC). I'm looking at a 4* in the East Village - Lower East Side from 10/22 to 10/25. The price I'm getting is $311 per night. Here are the amendities: Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access. The reviews are really great: 90% on Hotwire and 4.5 circles on TripAdvisor (1001 - 1500 reviews). It's the TripAdvisor reviews that is really throwing me. As far as I can tell, there are no 4* hotels in the LES that has that many 4.5 circle reviews -- nothing at all.Can you help?
AaronJB Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 Unfortunately, this listing has not been ID'd/reported to the board. A guess would be the Wyndham Garden Chinatown with a slightly different set of amenities than what has been previously reported to the board - but that is a guess and this may be something else. Still, with a 4.5/5, the reviews are clearly positive and not a concern. Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if you have additional questions. or30313 Posted September 28, 2015 Author Report Posted September 28, 2015 Yeah, that's my guess too. I just don't see how they call a Wyndam Garden a "boutique" hotel. Based on that guess, we're looking elsewhere mainly due to the location of this hotel. It gets great review, but it's really in the heart of Chinatown, which may be difficult with small children. Thank you very much for your help.
