thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! The reviews of this place actually aren't too bad... the major drawback is the rooms are extremely small, even by NYC standards.I probably would have went about this differently than you had... feel free to ask for help before bidding for your next hotel stay.Enjoy your time in NYC. flubbajubba
i kinda did follow how you described.I just wasn't sure what the areas to add on each occasion. How would you have gone about it? Link to comment
thereuare
i kinda did follow how you described. I'm assume you followed a strategy presented for somebody else in another thread... which is not recommended. Rates are date specific, so unless that stay was for the same dates as yourself, following the a strategy for somebody else can lead to wasted bids, or worse, an overbid.I just wasn't sure what the areas to add on each occasion. You need to have an understanding of Priceline Re-Bidding Explained to follow any of the strategies on the board (re-bidding is probably the most important thing to understand in helping secure the best deals on priceline). Feel free to read the previous thread and feel free to ask any questions you have regarding the re-bid concept. flubbajubba
I think the problem is that I didn't know what zones to use as rebid. I read the post you had but this is my problem:What if the zone I added that I think don't have any 4* suddenly did have one and end up getting something totally out of the way? That I think would be worst than paying more. How do you know what the rebidding zone should be when you mentioned before that the list of hotels are always changing? Link to comment
thereuare
From Priceline Re-Bidding Explained:The way to check what star levels are available in each zone is to open a Priceline page, check ONLY the zone you are inquiring about, and then proceed to the next page (as if you were going to select a zone)... this will give you the available star ratings in that area. You can then hit BACK on your browser, uncheck the current box, check the next box, and repeat the process. It is important to do this before EACH attempt at adding a zone that you really don't want, as new hotels can be added and the star ratings can change at any time. The above should be done every time before you start bidding to make sure that the re-bid zones have not changed since previously checked.
