Hotwire Hotel: 4* Los Angeles (Airport LAX) The Concourse Hotel at Los Angeles Airport

Just as an FYI - Hotwire has upgraded the Councourse to a 4 star rating now.  We just booked via Hotwire last week and the hotel we got was the Concourse.  It is most definitely not a 4-star hotel.  I am unsure of why it keeps getting its rating upgraded (first from a 3 star and now from a 3.5 star), especially being that the place is currently under construction.  All the recent Trip Advisor/Expedia reviews are very poor, as well.  We've stayed a few times at the hotel via Hotwire and the rooms are extrememly bare.  The mattress just sits on a box spring (no headboard), we have checked in and had no lamp in the room and no nightstands either and have had to call to request them, and on one recent stay we had a box TV that only got 6 channels.  Carpets are stained throughout the hotel, too.  The lounge/lobby are also cordoned off due to the construction and the pool is closed.  Makes me extremely nervous now to trust any Hotwire rating.  If Concourse is considered a 4-star, I shudder think what a 3-star is like.
