xstreamzero Posted August 25, 2015 Report Share Posted August 25, 2015 I needed to stay at the Mariott for a convention, so since it was the only 3.5* in the area, it was easy to bid for without getting placed at any other hotel. The Mariott had listed a 94 starting rate. I lowballed starting a 40,42,44,46,48,50,52,54,56,58,60,65, and all getting rejected. At 70, they countered up to 86. Then I kept bidding again, 72,74, and finally won at $76 a night. Saved about $40 for my stay, not a bad win. Link to comment
