Favrescrocs Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 Looking to stay on the strip for 3 nights in November. PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for $138 looks attractive but can you guess which property it will be? Guaranteed Amenities: Free Parking Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center Will be my first visit to Vegas. The pricing is significantly less for the 4* properties. Is there really that much of a drop off in quality? Thanks for your help!
thereuare Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages (which will also remove the red box at the top of the page and make the board easier to navigate) Best guess for this property would be The Wynn. The 5* hotels in Las Vegas are truly superior properties (quite possibly some of the nicest hotel rooms you will ever stay in)... but whether they are worth the extra expense is a personal choice. It's not much a drop-off in quality, as the 4* hotels still do offer nice accommodations, but they are more equivalent to a 'standard' hotel room at any other nice hotel in the country... whereas the 5* hotels are more properties/rooms that you really can't find anywhere else (and certainly not at the $135-$140 price point ;) ) You have to weight how much more the 5* costs vs. a 4*, how much you will be in the hotel/room and be able to appreciate what it offers, and if spending more on the room will hurt your budget and prevent you from doing other things in Vegas during your trip. For your first trip to Vegas, and if it's within your budget (and you won't need to deprive yourself of anything else), then i think going for the 5* gives you a first class experience for your first trip... but if it stretches your budget and you'll be worried more about money during the trip then out having a good time, then the 4 star properties should be 'good enough'. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
