Which one will you recommend? I'm traveling with two kids (8 & 6 years old)

I'd agree with both of your guesses.

 

Unfortunately, rates for these dates are quite high. I'd recommend a 4.5* HOTWIRE offer in the Midtown West-Hell's Kitchen area for $270 w/Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Roll-in Shower. 

-- This would be a possible match for the Tryp Times Square South.

 

The Wyndham New Yorker has a resort fee now, so considering that you'd be paying more in total for that than the potential Tryp TS South.
