mdg Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 Need some advice on bidding for Philadelphia Downtown. 4* preferred will be willing to drop to 3* eventually. Have bid up to $100 with no luck on those dates. Have used the multiple free re-bid zones obviously. Hotwire lists the 4* in the "Waterfront zone at over 170"-- side note, that property was listed at $100 a few months ago, I just couldn't pull the trigger. Hotel websites for 4 * are all over $175 as of last weekend.
thereuare Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 What is your maximum bid?Would you consider SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID? (i haven't looked into if this is advisable for your dates or not, but will if it is something you're open to doing) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
mdg Posted January 17, 2006 Author Report Posted January 17, 2006 Yeah I would consider splitting it. Some of the hotel websites looked like they were cheaper for 3rd, 4th, 5th, so I tried that once last week and bid up to about 90 dollars. Any suggestions on dates to split would be helpful. My max bid would probably be $110. Hotwire has the 3.5 star (Sheraton Society Hill) for 105.
mdg Posted January 17, 2006 Author Report Posted January 17, 2006 Just did a little checking on my own as far as splitting dates and now there is a 4* coming up on hotwire for waterfront at 115 with: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business. The Omni is the only thing on the hotwire hotel list that seems to match this?? That wasn't there last night. the Hyatt should have High Speed listed according to the hotel list. That is definitely tempting. I have had pretty good luck with Omni's and priceline in the past as far as room quality goes.
thereuare Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 I don't see this 4* property show n a search for your dates. Are you searching for more than double occupancy or is this for a sub-set of your dates? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
mdg Posted January 18, 2006 Author Report Posted January 18, 2006 I swear on all that is holy that it was there earlier. Just check and now it isn't. Even showed up in packages as the Omni. Wow, I knew I should have jumped on it but in 4 hours?? Wow, that's a first for me on hotwire.
