Hi!

I'm looking for 2 rooms between Oct 10 and 13 in Manhattan, preferably 4*. It seems like the prices are extremely high during this period, even bidding $200 was not successful. Is October generally a bad time, or is there an event? Does it make sense to wait one more month and start looking again?

The zone is not that important, but I would prefer EBS or Midtown East area over Upper East/Westside, for example.

I'd be really grateful for suggestions!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Fall is hi-season for NYC and rates of $200+ are not uncommon.

Which zone(s) have you already included in your bidding? Is Downtown-Financial acceptable?

I believe I've tried essentially all zones except Upper East / Upper West side and CPS. Downtown-Financial would be ok.

There's actually a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal at the moment for $200 in Downtown-Financial, and I'd say it's most likely Holiday Inn Manhattan Financial District. Do you agree, and do you think that's a good deal?

What about waiting a bit longer and trying again next month? Do you think prices will rather get higher, or is there a chance for a good deal?

If you'd like us to have a look at the PRICELINE EXPRESS property, please include the amenities that PRICELINE associates with the offered hotel.

As far as timing your purchase, there is no way to know if rates will come down between now and your trip or move even higher. This is a busy time in NYC, and hotels have a good guess as to the occupancy levels they will likely have over these dates, and have set prices accordingly. If they should get more new reservations/fewer cancellations then expected, then you could see rates rise further from here... if they get fewer new reservations/more cancellations then expected, then you could see rates a little lower.

The Holiday Inn Manhattan Financial District would be my best guess for this PRICELINE EXPRESS offer.
