danrocks28 Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 I'm trying to bid for a 5* hotel in Paris, dates are 9/9 - 9/12. I am particularly looking for either Champs Elysees - Arc De Triomphe Area Hotel or one of the Opera Quarters. However I do not want to be stuck with the Hotel De Vigny. Any tips/advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
thereuare Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 Please start by following-up your previous Priceline Niagara Falls thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip, then reply here and we will have a look at your stay above. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans. For Paris, what is your maximum budget per nite (before fees/taxes) for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
danrocks28 Posted August 12, 2015 Author Report Posted August 12, 2015 For Niagra Falls I ended up with the double tree for 2 nights saved about 30%. Budget pre tax is $200 in Paris. Any tips would be great
yellowdog Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 For Niagra Falls I ended up with the double tree for 2 nights saved about 30%.Please post the rate/night pre tax/fee's in that post. However I do not want to be stuck with the Hotel De Vigny. You can't bid on or avoid a specific hotel when using PRICE.LINE You have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) you select. Would you like to exclude the Champs Elysees zone and only bid at the Opera Quarters? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Yellowdog.
danrocks28 Posted August 12, 2015 Author Report Posted August 12, 2015 I have tried both Opera locations, made it up to $190 pre tax for a 3 night stay and then stopped
thereuare Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 Please start by reply to your Niagara Falls hotel thread with the amount of your winning bid so we can add this information to the topic title and enable that win to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins and our Priceline Maps. For your Paris trip above i think you will need to be closer to $300/nite to win a 5* hotel in one of the Opera Quarter zones... however, here is another option: PRICELINE EXPRESS has this 5* Champ Elysees-Arc de Triomphe (confirm your dates on the landing page) property for $223/nite with: Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Fitness Center ... my best guess for this property would be the Hotel Napoleon Paris. As well, this property shows a 9.0+ user review rating by previous PRICELINE guests, which would ensure that this is not the Hotel De Vigny that you are trying to avoid, since this property currently has only a 7.2 user review rating. Does this work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
danrocks28 Posted August 13, 2015 Author Report Posted August 13, 2015 Im wondering what I would get in that section if I bidded. Napoleon or the one I do not want?
yellowdog Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Im wondering what I would get in that section if I bidded. Napoleon or the one I do not want? You could get either... or you could also get a hotel that isn't reported to the board yet. Why not go for the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal since you would like to avoid Hotel De Vigny? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how we can help you further with your stay. Yellowdog.
danrocks28 Posted August 13, 2015 Author Report Posted August 13, 2015 Ended up bidding in the Champs Elysees, figured I would roll the dice. Got up to $195, rejected all the way and decided to stop.
yellowdog Posted August 14, 2015 Report Posted August 14, 2015 Sorry to see that didn't hit anything. What is your plan? Are you going to take the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal or do you have a backup hotel? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you ultimately decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. Yellowdog.
danrocks28 Posted November 13, 2015 Author Report Posted November 13, 2015 ended up bidding on a 4star hotel and got the Les Plumes at $160 a night
