jdkpa Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 Need help with a 4 star at Universal. According to the Priceline pinned hotel list, there are only two 4 star hotels for Universal Studios. Loews Portofino and Lowes Royal Pacific. I want to bid using priceline for a few nites next week. If I run a normal priceline search for 4 stars (not using name your own price) I get 3 results. Portofino, Royal Pacific, and Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge The Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge is not listed on Better Bidding's four star choices. So my fear is, if I bid using name your own price, I'll end up with Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge, which I absolutely do not want. Any help/advice? Thank you.
AaronJB Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 As noted at the top of the lists, the lists only offer what has been reported to the board. There very well may be other hotels possible and potentially there may be a hotel with discount inventory that may not have inventory on the retail side. thereuare Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 What are the actual dates you're searching for and what is your expected budget (per nite before fees/taxes) for this trip? LastSupper Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 First: Don't use PRICELINE Name Your Own Price for 4 Stars in Universal Area, you are correct, you may get The Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge. -- Instead, use PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal. Under Express Deal, find 4 star in Universal Studios Area. Check their price first. Usually, for those 3 Loews on-site hotels, the Express Deal is around $220 or higher. No way it can be cheaper than $180, at least I never saw one. So if the 4 star Express Deal is in that price range, it should be one of the on-site hotel. If the 4 star Express Deal is lower than $180, it could be end up The Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge. -- Another factor is, if the 4 star Express Deal includes free parking, it's definitely NOT the on-site hotels. They don't offer free parking, Another difference is, if 4 star Express Deal includes Pet-Friendly, it's definitely NOT the Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge, because Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge doesn't allow pet. -- Hopefully this helps. :)
thereuare Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 We have gotten pretty good and researching and taking an educated guess of the PRICELINE EXPRESS deals, so if there is a property you are interested in let us know the full details (dates, star rating, zone, room rate per nite, amenities associated with the offer, etc) and we will have a look. Wanderingwolf Posted September 6, 2015 Report Posted September 6, 2015 LastSupper, your post was REALLY helpful. I'm in a similar position with my family. I'm trying to book at an onsite Universal property and I'm scared of paying that amount for something without the fun glitz, excitement, and extra benefits (fast passes and early entry) and not being on property. I found an Orlando universal studios and international drive 4* that's pet friendly,, restaurant, business center, free internet, swimming pool, and gym/spa at $235 a night. By your post this looks like an onsite hotel due to the pet friendly. Any advice? Thanks.
