thereuare Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding! Is there something particular you're looking for that you'd consider this over the 4* in the South Strip zone which is offered for $10 less for the above date?It also seems that you could do better than the above prices for this date:Aladdin for $72Excalibur for $79Luxor for $79Monte Carlo for $116/nite (a little higher than the above, but not much, and i like this property) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
shawndubya Posted January 19, 2006 Author Report Posted January 19, 2006 You're right, I'm not sure why I was looking at that over the 4* (MGM); I guess just curious what it was.Anyway, I ended up booking the Tropicana for 160-170-90 (Island Tower) for Friday-Saturday-Sunday. Will still be looking around to see if I can find a better deal. Thanks for the help!shawn.
thereuare Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 I'm confused... this thread was asking about one nite, Sunday 2/12... what are the dates of the Friday-Saturday-Sunday you booked? Is this 2/10-2/13? If so, you can do much better than the Trop for $140/nite! :) Both the Excalibur and the Luxor can be had for the same price and offer a significant improvement in quality. shawndubya Posted January 19, 2006 Author Report Posted January 19, 2006 Yes, my trip is the dates you list. I definitely don't want the Excalibur (too many kids!), although I might switch to the Luxor (haven't stayed in either of those three before). The Trop sounded nice in an old kitchy sort of way which is why I picked that one.
thereuare Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 I stayed there 10 years ago and it was good, but on my last trip to Vegas i walked thru and it was in a sorry state... i wouldn't stay there again, it felt a lot more "old and tired" than it did "kitchy".I wouldn't give it a second thought... switch to the Luxor. shawndubya Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 Per suggestion, I switched my booking to the Luxor, using the easyclicktravel.com link. It better be nice! :)
thereuare Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 If you're not happy at the Luxor, i'm fairly certain you would be less happy at the Tropicana. It's really an apples vs. oranges comparison.... two different class of hotels entirely.Have a great trip and fun in Vegas.
