thereuare Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 Welcome to BetterBidding! So that we can more easily find each property above when replicating your search, please include the room rate per nite of each. Also, HOTWIRE has a new interface that requires a few extra clicks to see the complete set of amenities associated with a given hotel. Please searches as follows to ensure you're seeing the complete list and confirm the amenities for those above in your reply: 1) use the EASY VIEW tab of our BiddingHelper.com and click the green 'See All Amenities' button OR 2) search HOTWIRE (or use the HOTWIRE tab at BiddingHelper.com) and...click the offeron the next page click the BOOK NOW linkin the TRIP SUMMARY box click the 'See more' link at the end of the amenitiesPlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. octeach920 Posted July 26, 2015 Author Report Posted July 26, 2015 Hi . . . I tried both options to get full amenities list. Using #2, clicking to book room and looking at the Trip Summary, they listed the same amenities (no additional). I went to the bidding helper tab and the hotel in Bloomsbury had the same rating was $1 more in price, but when I clicked for full amenities list, I received an "ERROR 703" message. on the Kensington rooms the prices don't match the Hotwire site (which I just confirmed again). Using method #1 Bidding Helper, I found the following: 4* was $144 on Hotwire; same amenities listed at $132 on the Bidding Helper tab--but it has a lower approval rating (60% instead of 80%) so it's not the same hotel--couldn't find one listed there that matched the hotwire website. 3*was $114 on the Hotwire website; again no match for price and/or approval rating on the Bidding Helper tab Is it normal that they have different hotels on the 2 sites? Which one is more reliable to use?
thereuare Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 They are both reliable in the sense they there are 'live' offers which are available for purchase. What are your needs and maximum budget for this nite (before fees/taxes) and i will try to highlight what i think are some of the better offers in either of the two zones above. octeach920 Posted July 26, 2015 Author Report Posted July 26, 2015 I would like to stay under $150. I am hoping to get 2 beds (I know they are likely to be twins) as I am traveling with my teenage son. The 3* in Kensington with 85% recommendation was intriguing--included breakfast so I thought it may be more of a B&B and would give us a more intimate setting where we might meet up with locals. $114 The 4* in Bloomsbury sounded good because it was a little closer to the action, maybe slightly nicer area and it had an 85% recommendation. $145 Both of these were on the regular Hotwire site but I couldn't find them on the Bidding Helper. Love to hear your thoughts/recommendations--I want to book today as we are leaving soon.
thereuare Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 Is this the amenity set you're seeing for the 4* Bloomsbury property: Free Internet Smoke Free Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet ... if this is what you're seeing, I'm not sure, but my guess would be The Clarendon, Grange White Hall Hotel, or the Grange Fitzrovia I don't have a guess for the 3* Kensington property as i'm seeing an entirely different hotel with: Complimentary Breakfast Smoke Free Hi-Speed Internet ...and it has a 2.5/5.0 TA rating, which i would advise staying away from. ;) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. octeach920 Posted July 26, 2015 Author Report Posted July 26, 2015 Is there a way to attach a screenshot from my computer so you can see it? I tried your image icon but it need a URL which will just send you back to original search i think, but I will try it. Hopefully you can see it . . . The Grange Hotels in Bloomsbury didn't rate very well when I checked them out.
octeach920 Posted July 27, 2015 Author Report Posted July 27, 2015 Not thrilled . . . Holiday Inn a 4 star hotel? I wouldn't stay at one here--was hoping for an English style hotel. Oh well . . .
thereuare Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 What were the amenities for this 4*, where they as per the first post of this thread? Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Thanks.
