cpawl Posted July 24, 2015 Report Posted July 24, 2015 Hi, I just want to vent a bit I have been on the phone trying to win my case that these 2 areas are not close to each other but no luck.So just a heads up that if one bids on 4 star siam area you might get 3/12 star in khaosan road area.I have been to bangkok many times and would never pick this area, its not my to my liking. The hotel they gave me was Baan chart hotel and my bid was 57.00 dollars.I wont be staying in this hotel and will have to eat the cost of 365.00 Canadian with the exchange right now. I would of been happy with any hotel in saim area even a 3 star for what I paid but I guess I live and learn. Thanks for listening to me,Cindy
thereuare Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 Welcome to BetterBidding! Sorry to hear you're disappointed in the result of your purchase. When bidding on PRICELINE your hotel can be anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zones you select. Based upon the maps i'm looking at, this hotel does appear to be within the shaded boundaries of the Siam Square zone, which is why you're having difficultly trying for a refund. It is important to note the zone boundaries when bidding as your idea of 'Siam Square' may be a smaller area or different then the actual boundaries that have been designated by PRICELINE (there is no Khaosan zone on PRICELINE) Can you please add a reply to this thread with the actual dates of your stay so we can add this information to the topic title and enable this purchase to be included in our Priceline Maps and our Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins. If you'd like help with a 'replacement stay' for this trip please feel free to start a NEW TOPIC and we will try to assist with a more satisfactory outcome... or use our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com to choose a hotel in a specific location and the interface makes it easy to see how much more/less it would cost to go up/down in star rating OR to stay closer/further than your ideal location. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cpawl Posted July 25, 2015 Author Report Posted July 25, 2015 I am not trying for a refund but a different hotel in the siam area.I am sorry to say that khoasan road area is a slum area of bangkok and would take over an hour by taxi to get to siam area. This is deceive in how they have sold this area. One area is the shopping area and the other backpacker/party area. And not my thing. Pluse the hotel is not 4 stars but 3/12 on other booking sites. The hotel is a motel,I would never consider motel 4 stars. My trip is june 1 to 5 2016.
AaronJB Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 Thank you for the follow-up. Let us know if you have questions on a PRICELINE EXPRESS listing, as trying to ID a particular PRICELINE EXPRESS listing may be a better choice than bidding. As noted, you have to be willing to stay anywhere within the shaded area of a zone if you bid on a particular zone. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
