srgreene
Got this deal for 2 nights (Thursday and Friday) in the city. Best rate on starwoodhotels.com (and Priceline view all deals) was $258. Priceline Express Deal for this hotel (4* with same amenities) was $163.Started "Name Your Own Price" bidding at 4* Copley for $130. Got the Priceline marketing "Counteroffer" message and wanted me to add $75 to bid again right there. No thanks.I added free rebid zones (that have no 4* hotels):Watertown for $140, Saugus for $145, South Boston for $150 and then Jamaica Plain for $152 and got it.Room subtotal: $304Trip protection: $10Taxes & Fees: $58.20Total charged: $372.20We know the parking will be steep but we're ok with that as we're splurging for a couple nights in the city with our boys. I actually added the Trip Insurance for $5/night just in case someone gets sick and we can't make the trip. Usually if someone is very sick, you can't go, and if you get a doctor's note then you can send that in, it's the only way a refund is offered on Priceline. In our case, worth the $10 for a $372 two-night stay. Link to comment
