Priceline Hotel: 3- 3 1/2 * Hotel in Niagara Falls area

Hello

 

I'm new to PRICELINE and bidding,  We are looking for accommodation in Niagara falls, US side. Check in date 07/25  and check out date 07/27. With 2 year daughter , we prefer within 5 mi of falls area. 

 

Kindly  advise our bidding strategy , What should be my starting bid amount.

 

As backup strategy , I have already booked hotel at higher price which can be cancelled 24 hrs prior.

I would suggest the "Niagara Falls" zone. It's the closest zone to the Niagara Falls.

 

What is you max budget/night before tax/fee's for  3* vs 3.5*?

 

I also would like to mention that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy (1 bed), after that is at the discretion of the hotel. Are you OK with this?

My total budget is $ 150 for 2 days.

I assume double occupancy means I would get  atleast 2 double beds or 1 Queen, I'm good with that.  i hope, hotels would not have restrictions on accommodating 2 adults and 1 kid (2yrs) in double occupancy.

 

While I try to search Niagara falls area in PL bidding screen  for 3 31/2 accom , I do not see Parking and refrigerator / coffee maker mentioned as amenities. Can I assume they would be default available in 3 -3/12 star accom. With kid I prefer to get microwave as well, need not be necessarily in room but a common one which I can use.

Any room that would accommodate two guests... you can not guarantee room type or bed size.

Almost all (if not all) hotels in this area will offer parking, but it may not be free (the parking designation shown by PRICELINE / HOTWIRE is indicative of free parking, not just 'parking available') and a microwave/refrigerator are NOT standard amenities for a hotel at any star level (although most, but not all, all-suite properties do offer a refrigerator and/or microwave in the room).

If any of the amenities above are must have (as opposed to want) then using HOTWIRE and choosing a hotel that shows a Kitcenette amenity might be a better option for you for this trip.

However, i just confirmed what i suspected, and all of the above may be a moot point as your budget is not likely realistic for a 3* hotel in this area during peak season (and for a Saturday nite check-in)

Using our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for these dates?

Thank you very much for your response . Most of the good deals are on the Canadian side and I dont have canadian Visa, so I may prefer to stick on with original reservation. Next time I would plan in advance
