Priceline Hotel: Need Help - 5* Hotel South Strip or North Strip 8/18-8/20

We have 4 people and will need two double beds. Didn't want the Trump in the North Strip and don't think Vdara in the South Strip works as it seems that all their rooms only have one king bed (and a pull out sofa). So I think I want to avoid the Trump and Vdara (which I think I want to avoid non-casino 5* hotels if my research is right....)

Preference would be Aria or Bellagio in the South Strip but other 5* hotels would work too.

What would you recommend as a strategy? Would you expect the price to go down later and should I also look into Hot.wire?

Currently there is a 5-star casino hotel for PRICELINE EXPRESS for $102. Any guess which hotel this would be? Guaranteed Amenities: Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino

Thanks!!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

To get started...

Note that most Las Veags hotels, especially those at the higher star ratings, now charge more for rooms with two beds (vs. rooms with only one bed) and for quad occupancy.

If a pullout sofabed is not acceptable, then you're only option is to use PRICELINE EXPRESS and look for a hotel that shows a 'Bed Choice' option, and then look to see if one of those choices is a room that has two beds.

If a pullout sofabed is an option, then in addition to the above you could use HOTWIRE and search for quad occupancy, which will ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone in your group (although the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway, etc)

Lastly, you could book for double occupancy (thru PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE offer) and try to upgrade to a room with two beds. It's possible that the hotel will do so just for your asking... but it's also possible that the hotel won't accommodate your request (or can't if the hotel is busy or against hotel policy) OR seeks to charge you more for the upgrade.

For the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer above, i assume this is in the Strip South zone? If so, my best guess for this one would be The Cosmopolitan... and fortunately for you this one does show a Bed Choice and the first bed choice listed (and lowest price) is for a room with 2 Queen beds.

Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move even higher, between now and your trip but i would be willing to lock this one in now since 1) $100 is a very good deal for a 5* hotel in Las Veags, and 2) you need quad occupancy and a sofabed is not an option (which will greatly limit your options)... you've gotten lucky (even before you've arrived in Vegas :P ) that this offer is available and showing an option with 2 beds.

Thanks a lot! i'll be sure to use the links on the site.

Looks like the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer would be good to lock in then.

But let's say if I'll willing to take a chance to upgrade the room to 2 beds at check-in and use Price.line (or Hot.wire) to bid, would there be a way to avoid the Trump (just didn't like its location) and Vdara (as it doesn't have room with 2 beds)? Any good guesses of what hotels I'm going to get if I bid?

Thanks again!

There is no way to bid for a particular property or avoid a particular property. If you bid more in an attempt to avoid a particular property, you could very easily overbid and get the same property you would have gotten had you bid less. Hot.wire is not bidding, but a set of fixed listings with the zone, star rating, amenities and price. You can avoid the Trump on PRICELINE EXPRESS or Hot.wire, given the ability to ID a particular listing given the information, but when you're bidding, you have to be willing to accept any of the possibilities given the star rating and zone picked.

The Marriott members rate for the Cosmopolitan is actually only $119 a night (average rate for two nights) for the same 2 double bed room. I think I'm just going to book that for now (refundable rate) and see if the rates will go down on Priceline later...

Thanks!
