Hotwire Hotel: 4.5* New York City (Midtown East) The Westin New York Grand Central

I first tried to get a good deal on Price.line for these dates, but, using re-bid zones, bid all the way from $130 to $180 without winning, so I figured for about the same money I could have the slightly better confidence that Hotwire provides (especially since we had 3 in our room and Hot.wire will let you specify that while Price.line won't).

I was hoping Hotwire might provide a hint of which hotel this was, which they sometimes do ("the last bidder got the Xxxx Hotel"), but no luck.

Anyway I was very pleased with this hotel, I'm a Starwood Gold member so they will likely provide an upgrade or other extra perks.

Very good price for NYC - I guess "summer in the city" is a good time for better prices.

For the future note that the "Last person got ___" info shown by HOTWIRE is in reference to the last person who bought a hotel in the zone at that star rating... not necessarily the specific hotel currently being offered (so don't use that as a hint of what is being offered... it's just a possibility as to one hotel in the zone at that star rating)

Not too far of a walk (10 minutes) from this hotel is one of the best bagel shops in the city, imo... makes for a nice, and inexpensive, breakfast among NYC locals:
