Manatus Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 Hi all, I have a couple of hotels I have tried and failed to identify via the hotel list, that I would appreciate some assistance with: 4* "all-suites hotel" - $217 No amenities are listed either in Hotwire or Bidding Helper (Bidding Helper returns an error for the amenities search). The only clue is the Hotwire description that it is an "all-suites" hotel, but I am not familiar with any of those in this area. Edit: I think this one may be the Staybridge Suites Vauxhall? 5* - $257 Free internet Restaurant Smoke-free My gut feeling on this is that it's the Conrad St James (formerly the Intercontinental). The Intercontinental is still listed in the hotel list. According to the Conrad's hotel policies, it is entirely smoke free. Any thoughts? Thanks much.
thereuare Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 The all-suite hotel is producing an error when clicking the 'See All Amenities' since this hotel is not showing any amenities... we will update in the coming weeks to give a more descriptive error ('no amenities listed' or something like that) to differentiate between this and when there is a communication failure. Thanks for letting us know. We have also update the Hotwire Hotel List with the name change from the InterContinental to the Conrad, thanks for this update as well. For the 5* property, if you use the BiddingHelper.com for this listing do you also see Internet Access listed as well? (in addition to the Free Internet already listed): Free Internet Smoke Free Restaurant Hi-Speed Internet ... if so, i don't have a guess for this property, but i don't think it is the Conrad, as this HOTWIRE offer shows a TA rating of 4.0/5.0 whereas the Conrad currently has a 4.5/5.0. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you ultimately decide or how we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

Yes, on BiddingHelper this hotel does have the added "Hi-Speed Internet" amenity. Re: the ratings - I'm curious as to whether Hotwire has stopped using the TA scores entirely and is just using their own, as the categories no longer match up (Hotwire no longer rates "value" for example, and now has a "condition of hotel" rating). That could explain why the scores don't match up though you would know better than I would on this. The "comparable rate" provided of $661 is also in the ballpark of what the Conrad is going for on regular travel websites. It may also be possible that the name change has affected it, as TA's reviews include previous reviews/scores for the Intercontinental, whereas Hotwire may have started fresh under the Conrad name? Just speculating of course. Anyway I will update if I end up going for this one. Thanks!
Manatus Posted July 15, 2015 Author Report Posted July 15, 2015 Also a couple of others for the same dates, same (2) people, on Bidding.Helper: 5* Mayfair - Piccadilly Circus - Soho: $209 FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa services Looks like the Metropolitan? 5* Bloomsbury - St. Pancras Station - British Museum: $277 FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible I'm thinking maybe the Langham but less sure about this one. A forum search shows that the Langham hasn't been reported for a while - maybe this is why the accessibility options have not been reported? Though the TA ratings don't seem to quite match up. Maybe The Arch? Any insight appreciated!
yellowdog Posted July 15, 2015 Report Posted July 15, 2015 5* Mayfair - Piccadilly Circus - Soho: $209Best guess would be Metropolitan Hotel London 5* Bloomsbury - St. Pancras Station - British Museum: $277Best guess would be The Arch London.
