thereuare
This is advice for the second half of a split bid... split because the above 2 days have a LARGE convention in town and demand is very tight. You can read the first half of the bid in THIS THREAD.I have no first hand experience, but in doing research for more options for you i came across a website that suggests Evanston as a good town on the outskirts of Chicago with easy access to the train. That may be a good town to research hotels in and see just how accessible they are to the 'L' (<-- Chicago's train system) I don't know if you'd just stick with your back-up hotel at ~$150 or would rather stay cheap on the outskirts of the city.I wouldn't be bidding Evanston just yet, as i'd still be hoping for something to open up via Priceline/Hotwire by the end of the month, but i'd at least start doing my homework to see if it's a viable option. If you continue to bid the other 'city' zones, i'd adjust my bidding as follows:Select 4* and (The Loop-Grant Park) and bid $80, if rejectedAdd NMA zone and bid $85, if rejectedAdd RiverNorth and bid $90, if rejectedadd re-bid zone and bid $100, if rejectedadd re-bid zone and bid $115, if rejectedadd re-bid zone and bid $120, if rejectedadd re-bid zone and bid $130.If the above is not successful i would then try the following:Close the previous browser and start with a brand new Priceline screen. For 3* in this area you have 2 re-bid zones available (again, freel free to confirm with us if you'd like):Select 3* and (The Loop-Grant Park) and bid $80, if rejectedAdd NMA zone and bid $90, if rejectedAdd RiverNorth and bid $100, if rejectedadd re-bid zone and bid $120, if rejectedadd re-bid zone and bid $130Of course if you get a counter-offer at anytime, make a note of the zones already used and report back. If you're rejected after your first new cycle of bidding you can either keep the above or raise each bid by $5 on the next cycle, and so-on, and so-on.Any questions feel free to ask and keep up updated.
