Given the prices that I'm seeing, if you're seeing a 2.5* for $74 for 7/31-8/4, I'd take it quickly because the cheapest thing I'm seeing in MDW this evening when searching for these dates is $120. Are you driving? Do you need to be by MDW? If you're looking for something downtown what would you consider to be a 'good price'? I do see what appears to be the Hotel Indigo downtown for $117 (you may see a slightly different price) for the 8/2-4 period. Looking for 7/31-8/2 alone reveals - unfortunately - significantly higher prices due to Lollapalooza. Perhaps you could split your stay - MDW from 7/31-8/2 and downtown from 8/2-4?
