Priceline Hotel: Hotel Hershey?

My wife and I are on a Staycation with our 19 month old daughter. Since we have another child on the way we didn't plan to go anywhere this summer. I'd love to surprise my wife and daughter with a two night trip to Hershey Park. I've always stayed at Hotel Hershey as a kid. Has anyone won a bid to Hotel Hershey? If so, what did you bid and how did you narrow down to ensure you didn't get a different hotel?

You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose.

With HOTWIRE and PRICELINE EXPRESS you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for.

Are you willing to stay a hotel nearby in exchange for a discounted price OR are you only interested in the Hotel Hershey? Also, do you intend to go to the park? If not, why not look for any resort-like property within your 'staycation proximity'.

Do you have specific dates in mind? What would be your budget for this trip? (per nite before fees/taxes)

I looked at a few sources, and found the Hotel Hershey rated 4* and 4.5*.  The highest Price.line bidding star level currently is 3*.  Same for PRICELINE EXPRESS and Hot.wire.  That rules out currently getting the Hotel Hershey via these sources..

 

I also did a history search on this site and I don't see anyone ever having won the Hotel Hershey (or any other Hershey 4*+ hotel).  While lots of 4*, 4.5* and 5* hotels participate on Priceline and Hotwire in other cities, it is probable the Hotel Hershey has never participated.
