morden
Much higher price than I usually win in this zone, but happy. Same zone had PRICELINE EXPRESS deal at $116 at the time of bidding. On the upside, this is my favourite Toronto property. Quite happy with the hotel won. Used the PRICELINE links here to start my bidding. Link to comment

morden
I think the higher rates must be due to the Toronto Pan Am Games starting around July 10th. Link to comment
morden
Gah. I should have waited longer. PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for 4* hotel in this zone down to $96 for these dates. Link to comment
thereuare
Two quick comments... 1) i had a fast look at the current PRICELINE EXPRESS offer and i don't believe it's the same hotel as the one you received, so if you're happy with the Delta, then maybe the current offer is a property you may not have liked as much 2) focus on the $100+/nite you saved instead of the potential $5 you may have left on the table ;) Have a good trip! morden
Of course you are right, @thereuare. $5 isn't going to change much, and I'm happy with my win. It's more a question of strategy. Should I have watched the express deals longer and waited for a price drop? Name your own price is usuall 10-20% cheaper than the equivalent express deal, so I might have seen a larger savings than $5. On the other hand, prices might go up. Trying to figure out the best way to time bids. I've had luck in the past bidding as late as the day before. But other times the sweet spot might be 2 weeks before. I might be obsessing a little but the thrill of the hunt is fun. Link to comment
AaronJB
Prices can absolutely go the other way. As demand has ramped up post-2008, there has been less in the way of last minute deals and more in the way of moves higher last minute. Looks like quite a nice deal for this property and waiting for lower prices is a gamble. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
