AaronJB Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 Are you looking in the Loop for a particular reason? There are portions of the Loop that are quiet at night - especially the West and South portions. I'm seeing hotels North of the river that I think would represent more hotel for the money, too. Beyond that, I'll note that the 7/1-3 period is significantly cheaper when viewed separately - it's the 7/3-4 night that is problematic. You may be able to get a better overall average if you split the stay. Also, I'm very familiar with the area - please let me know if you have any city questions. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
dcm189 Posted June 27, 2015 Author Report Posted June 27, 2015 Thank you for your quick reply! That's really insightful, really appreciate it. I'm attending a conference at the Palmer House Hilton on 17 E Monroe St, so trying to stay within walking distance. I was hoping the 3.5* property was the Club Quarters, which is a short walk away. Any other suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!!!
AaronJB Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 3.5* Loop - not yet ID'd/reported. 4* Loop Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Roll-in Shower-- Not yet ID'd/reported, but I'd guess that this may be the Club Quarters Wacker/Michigan, upgraded to 4*. 4* Loop w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa, Bathroom Accessible, Roll-in Shower, Pet Friendly.-- Likely Allegro ------------------------- I'm seeing a 4.5* Mag Mile-RN w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business for $177. You may see a slightly different price. That amenity set has been seen previously with the Hotel Palomar. If this is the Palomar, it's literally right next to a Red Line station and square in the middle of the restaurant-heavy River North area. If you were to take a cab from here to the Palmer, it would be a very quick trip. I also see what appears to be the Hotel Ivy, which wouldn't be nearly as convenient to a subway but would be a nice result and a similarly easy cab ride. Let me know your thoughts on the above and if you have any additional questions. dcm189 Posted September 2, 2015 Author Report Posted September 2, 2015 Thanks! I ended up booking directly instead of using Hotwire, since I needed location preciseness. Stayed at Chicago Athletic Association, it was great!
